“Meeting lots of students from different countries helped me to make new friendships and learn how to talk and interact with people from other cultures.”

My University English course prepared me well for my postgraduate degree as it helped me write papers requiring in-depth research. For example, my writing classes taught me how to effectively search in both the physical library and the library database system.

We were taught in small groups in our University English classes. Meeting lots of students from different countries helped me to make new friendships and learn how to talk and interact with people from other cultures. Living in a new country and within an unfamiliar culture has provided a great experience for me. Cultural exchange involves adapting and learning about new environments and this flexibility is a helpful skill.

I got lots of support and help from my highly qualified teachers, and they gave me plenty of opportunities to participate in the class. Although I have faced difficulties in my degree course, having now met lots of native speakers has also helped me in improving my English.
