Evolution of Animal Development and Morphology

About us

Research in our group investigates a number of questions central to understanding animal evolution:

  • How is animal development regulated?
  • How does the genetic regulation of development evolve?
  • What are the molecular changes in developmental factors underlying morphological variation?
  • What is the relationship between the evolution of variation within species and differences between species?

To involve a wider audience our research, we regularly visit schools to talk about animal biology and carry out research related hands-on activities, as well as participating in public events hosted by Oxford Brookes University.

We also host high school students in our lab to provide them with research experience and training.
