Thank you for your application to study BA Fine Art and congratulations on reaching the interview stage of the selection process.
All our applicants to the single honours Fine Art undergraduate programme who meet the entry requirements are invited to attend an interview. This part of the selection process allows us to make an assessment of your potential to be a successful Fine Art student. It also gives you the opportunity to meet us and help you decide whether Oxford Brookes is the right place for you.
The next steps you need to take are:
Please bring a portfolio of your most relevant and recent work.
Please do not bring every piece of work you have ever done! We simply wouldn’t have time to look at everything. The aim of the portfolio review is to provide us with a representative picture of what you are doing and possible future developments. Make sure that what you put in your portfolio reflects your aspirations as an artist and your reasons for applying to the Brookes Fine Art course.
You will be asked to take the lead in discussing the contents of your portfolio, so please make sure that you organise your work in a way that makes sense to you and to others.
When you arrive at the Richard Hamilton Building, you will be met by a Programme Administrator or Student Ambassador who will show you where to leave your portfolio.
If you haven’t already been on one of our Campus Tours you may want to take the opportunity of being at Oxford Brookes to sign up on one. There is a link to the sign-up page below. Campus Tours are led by a student ambassador who will be able to answer any questions you may have about aspects of the university and student life. Tours last for 1hr and start from our Gipsy Lane site, just a few minutes’ walk away from the Richard Hamilton Building.
We recommend that you sign up for a morning Campus Tour if your interview is scheduled for the afternoon or if you have been scheduled for a morning interview, please book a space on an afternoon Campus Tour.
To go on a Campus Tour you will need to book a place at least 1 week in advance by contacting the Enquiry Centre on +44 (0) 1865 484848 or on email@example.com
Or please visit our Book a campus tour page.
Please note that although it is possible for you to drive to the School of Arts to drop your portfolio off you will not be able to leave your car on campus while your interview is taking place as no parking is available on campus due to strict parking restrictions.
Please refer to our How to find us page for details on getting to Oxford and finding the Headington Hill Site. If you are in need of parking due to a disability, please email or call Adriana Siaulyte 01865 484722 at least one week in advance of your interview to reserve a space.
When you arrive at Oxford Brookes University, report directly at the School of Arts. The School of Arts is situated in the Richard Hamilton Building, which is on the Headington Hill side of the main Gipsy Lane campus. A member of Staff and a Student Ambassador will be there to welcome you and will provide you with information for the day.
We only consider students who have a portfolio of art work. See the guidance notes on what to include in your portfolio.
