Thank you for your application to study BA Graphic Design and congratulations on reaching the interview stage of the selection process.
All our applicants to the
single honours Graphic Design undergraduate programme who meet the entry
requirements are invited to attend an interview. This part of the selection
process allows us to make an assessment of your potential to be a successful Graphic
Design student. It also gives you the opportunity to meet us and help you
decide whether Oxford Brookes is the right place for you.
The next steps you need
to take are:
the information about how to
get to Oxford Brookes. There are no places to
park on campus or in the surrounding residential areas. We recommend if you are
arriving by car that you and your portfolio are dropped off at the Richard
Hamilton Building and that your ‘driver’ parks in the Thornhill Park and Ride
area and travels back to the campus by bus. This is likely to take between 30
and 40 minutes depending on traffic.
Please bring a portfolio
of your most relevant and recent work.
It is important that your
portfolio contains a diverse range of work and processes (finished and in
progress), so that we can gauge your experiences and abilities to date. We are
interested in what excites you as an emerging graphic designer. We suggest that
you include your most recent work (this will vary, depending on whether you are
applying from a foundation course or direct from A-levels).
We do not expect you to
have experience of every technical process, nor do we need to see everything
you have done. Everyone is different. However, we are keen to find out more
about you and the designers, artists and studios you are interested in. Whose
work inspires your own?
The portfolio can contain
the following types of work:
