Brookes research staff and students along with colleagues from across globe discuss the final episode of CSI covering such disciplines as criminology and law, the episode was screened on 16 October 2015.
As Italy’s biggest film festival kicks off this week, the 72nd Venice International Film Festival (2-12 September 2015) Brookes highlights its on-going research into memories of cinema going in 1950s Italy.
Students and staff from the Centre (Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies) were busy throughout the London Book Fair, held at Olympia from the 12 to 14 April 2016.
Annual festival audiograft took place this year from 11-27 March. Audiograft is curated by The Sonic Art Research Unit (SARU) and includes a mix of experimental music, sound art concerts and exhibitions. The festival takes over a range
of venues in Oxford including OVADA, the O3 Gallery and The Story Museum.
On Wednesday 11 March 2015, Leander Reeves, Senior Lecturer in Publishing, gave an open lecture on magazine publishing, as part of the Oxford Brookes Anniversary Lecture Series.
Dr Jane Potter, Senior Lecturer in Publishing at Oxford Brookes, was chosen to share her views on Wilfred Owen, a renowned First World War poet. In November, Dr Potter featured on BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine show to discuss two of Owen’s poems.
September 2014 saw delegates from all over the world gather to Tokyo for the second international Mokuhanga conference. The conference was held at Tokyo University of the Arts from 10 to 14 September.
On Tuesday 9 September 2014, the OBERTO opera research unit (Oxford Brookes: Exploring Research Trends in Opera) held its fourth annual conference: ‘Beyond Black Tie and Bubbly: Rescuing Opera from Stereotypes’.
