I was attracted to the MA course at Brookes was the fact that I was given the choice between three different routes in the course and I was able to mix and match between them and tailor the course to my own needs and preferences

Before I came to Oxford Brookes University I was working as a Romanian language teacher back home. I came to study at Brookes with the aim of becoming a teacher and it was here that I realised just how different the English and Romanian education systems are.

I chose to study for an MA in Education at Brookes because I thought it would help me understand both the structure and nature of English schools better as well as improving my knowledge about educational systems in general. I was attracted to the MA course at Brookes was the fact that I was given the choice between three different routes in the course and I was able to mix and match between them and tailor the course to my own needs and preferences.

I feel I have gained many new skills whilst studying at Brookes such as being able to express my opinion clearly and accurately as well as reading texts critically. The best part of the course was definitely the lecturers who were extremely helpful and who showed me that I could achieve more than I thought. Alongside this, my self-confidence also grew. Furthermore, the best part of being a student within the School of Education was definitely being a student again and being in England. Alongside this working with such great academics and being able to see educational systems from different perspectives was excellent.

Now I have completed my course I am considering continuing my studies and embarking on a doctorate; something which I could not have done without completing my course with Oxford Brookes. Completing an MA in Education has not only meant that I now hold a qualification that is recognised in Europe but also it allows me to apply for more senior job positions which will further my career.
