I decided to study the MA Childhood studies at Brookes because Oxford Brookes University is well known worldwide and has a good education system supported by high teaching skilled staff and up to date technological instruments

I am a general practitioner by occupation and have a medical background. I have got MBCHB in medicine and surgery and I graduated from Mousel college of medicine in Iraq.

I decided to study the MA Childhood studies at Brookes because Oxford Brookes University is well known worldwide and has a good education system supported by high teaching skilled staff and up to date technological instruments. Almost everything concerning the education system is available. For instance, the library with valuable books and various old and recent resources, free transport and a motivating education environment. The city of Oxford is a lovely place for such a university and, for me, is the most interesting and wonderful town in UK.

The MA Childhood Studies deals with children under 18 years from different types of perspectives through significant modules which have changed my personal perception about children and how to deal and think regarding children’s learning and development, children’s rights, and children’s thoughts and beliefs regarding healthy eating. Also, the different cultures and polices that affect children’s life.

I enjoy life in Oxford because it is a highly educated culture, the freedom and the clean beautiful environment and nature, as well as the kind and helpful people. Also, it is easy moving from one place to another with a good transport system, and usually services are available anywhere.

Being in Oxford helps me with my studies as a large proportion of the population consists of students. Oxford is a green city with a very beautiful nature and provides an excellent environment for learning and education. The good travel network is helpful, and the presence of the Central Oxford Library is valuable.

In the future I am planning to do my PHD and to work in Oxford afterwards, if I can get job in one of the Oxford Hospitals.

All the teaching staff at Brookes are kind, friendly and helpful. They are always ready for any question to answer, and give you the best advice. Also, the library staff are so kind and helpful.
