The only place I wanted to do my LLM was at Brookes. I took my undergraduate degree here and the law staff always had the time to answer my questions and give me guidance and support.

I was also attracted by the very many modules offered and the option of gaining a degree in public or commercial international law or a mix of both. Furthermore, having read the personal history of lecturers teaching the LLM and finding out the extensive experience they have had in the field and their research topics, I felt privileged to have the chance to learn from such interesting individuals. All have very different expertise in different subjects and jurisdictions, come from different backgrounds and publish interesting articles.

During the LLM I was a member of the Law Society and was able to take part in many activities. I found it particularly interesting to visit the Hague and see institutions such as the international criminal courts on which I based my dissertation. Since then I have completed my BVC and have started a funded internship at the International Criminal Court back in the Hague. I have no doubt, the LLM along with my dissertation helped me secure both a European Scholarship and a subsequent position with the Special Court for Sierra Leone.
