Professor Simonetta Manfredi of the Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice gave a lecture on the influence of female academics, politicians and activists in shaping European policies to advance gender equality, along with key EU legislation on gender equality and reflection on the impact for women in Britain. This lecture formed part of the programme for Oxford International Women's Festival 2014

Furthering Children’s Rights and Women’s Rights Corporate social responsibility and philoanthropocapitalism.

A seminar by Dr. Mariya Ali.

Dr Mariya Ali was the Deputy Minister for Health and Family in the Maldives from 2009-2011 holding the portfolio of social services.  In this role she implemented many projects with the corporate sector to enhance women and children’s rights. She is an advocate for children’s rights under Islamic law and works as a human rights consultant.

14 February 2013 Women + Leadership - The VP of the EU talks quotas - the Vice President of the European Union and Commissioner for Justice Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, Viviane Reding spoke at Harcourt Hill about EU action to increase gender diversity on company boards. Her proposed directive will introduce a legally binding quota of 40 per cent of women on non-executive boards of listed companies across Europe by 2020. After a progress update for the UK by Professor Susan Vinnicombe (Cranfield University), the event concluded with a lively panel discussion chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Janet Beer.
