Pam Walton

Pam Walton photoPam Walton is a freelance writer, researcher and consultant focusing on flexible working options and work-life balance.

She has worked in this field for 30 years. She is also a Visiting Fellow in Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

She was a founder member of New Ways to Work (NWW), where she worked for 19 years. She is the author of a range of publications, including Hours to Suit, Working flexibly at senior and managerial levels for Working Families, ‘Balanced Lives: Changing Work Patterns for men’ (NWW) and Job Sharing: a practical guide (Kogan Page, 1990). She was a member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee for Work-life Balance between 2000-2002, when she also worked for the Government's Work-Life Balance Team in the Department of Trade and Industry.

Pam has worked with a range of clients including the Department of Health, the Cabinet Office, Sheffield University, Barnsley Council and Sheffield Children’s Information Service.
