The Gender Identity Research and Education Society (GIRES) promotes and communicates research that improves the lives of trans people, their families, and professionals.  Through a trans crime reporting service they collect reports of trans hate crime, which they summarise into reports to the Home Office, police and local authorities about the frequency and types of crime trans people are experiencing.

The Gender Trust offers advice and support for trans people, their partners, families, carers, and allied professionals. The Gender Trust has a membership society and produces a quarterly magazine, GT News. The Gender Trust National Helpline (tel: 0845 231 0505) is a confidential service offering help and support to anyone with queries about all aspects of gender identity issues.

Press for Change is a political lobbying and educational organisation, which campaigns to achieve equal civil rights and liberties for all trans people in the UK, through legislation and social change.

Scottish Transgender Alliance offers guidance to service providers and employers on trans equality issues and good practice in Scotland. It also provides information to support transgender people in understanding and accessing their human rights.

The Equality Challenge Unit provide the comprehensive guidance Trans staff and students in higher education.

Unison produce Guidance on trans equality in post-school education which contains excellent info on trans issues and advice about best practice in a university environment.

The Beaumont Society is a national self help body run by and for those who crossdress or are transsexual.

The Transgender Zone supports those who feel that they are confused about their gender, those who are looking for support for someone who is transgendered, and health and social care professionals who want to learn more about the subject.
