  • The Department for Business, Innovation, and Skills also has a sexual orientation web page where anti-discrimination posters for the workplace can be downloaded.
  • The Equality Challenge Unit, promoting equality and diversity in higher education, have excellent web-based resources on sexual orientation issues.
  • LGBT History Month takes place each year in February. It celebrates the lives and achievements of the LGBT community. We are committed to celebrate its diversity and that of the society as a whole.
  • International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) takes place every year on 17 May.
  • Stonewall is the UK’s national lobby group working for equality and justice for LGBT people.
  • Amnesty International UK LGBT Network works to expose ways in which LGBT people are criminalised, tortured or ill-treated because of their sexuality throughout the world. Amnesty also works to protect human rights defenders who put themselves at risk by speaking out against human rights abuses based on sexuality or gender identity.
  • Pink News provides daily LGBT news, reviews, and comment.
  • Queer Youth Network is the UK’s national youth organisation.
  • Gay Youth UK offers a community space, support, and information for young people (under 25) who are LGBT or think they might be.
  • The Albert Kennedy Trust provides information and support for young LGBT people who are homeless.
  • The Gay Business Association describes itself as a modern day gay chamber of commerce. It exists to develop the gay market, promote gay-owned start-ups, and promote the aims of LGBT businesses throughout the UK.
  • Regard is the UK’s national organisation of disabled LGBT people.
  • The Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement (LGCM) is a UK-based international charity for an inclusive church.
  • Young Lesbian and Gay Christians (YLGC) offer a community space for 16-30 year old LGBT Christians to meet, socialise, hear from each other and support each other.
  • The Jewish Gay and Lesbian Group (JGLG), the longest-established Jewish gay group in the world, provides an atmosphere of friendship and support for Jewish gays, lesbians, bisexuals and their partners.
  • Imaan is a social support group for LGBT Muslims, their families, friends, and supporters, and those questioning their sexuality.
  • Safra Project is a resource project working on issues relating to lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender women who identify as Muslim religiously and/or culturally (Muslim LBT women).
  • The Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association promotes a rational, humanist approach to same-sex eroticism and to LGBT rights as human rights.
  • Broken Rainbow offers support to LGBTs experiencing domestic violence.
  • The UK Lesbian & Gay Immigration Group is a charity providing information and advice on immigration rights for same sex couples and support for lesbian and gay asylum seekers.
