Dependant leave

Consult the Directorate of Human Resources when granting compassionate leave in order to ensure consistency.

Special leave for public duties

Managers should ensure that the Directorate of Human Resources is made aware of any Public Duties responsibilities that a member of staff may have, record the leave as appropriate and advise the Directorate of Human Resources if adjustments have to be made to the employees salary.

Sabbaticals/unpaid leave

If a member of staff is granted time away from the University on sabbatical or unpaid leave the manager must inform the Directorate of Human Resources so that appropriate arrangements can be made with regard to pay and superannuation.
