Teaching, learning and enhancing the student experience

Evidence of particular success, effectiveness and impact in the following:

  • innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment

  • significant contribution and innovation in programme/module review and development

  • making a significant impact/contributions to activities which enhance the student experience, e.g. co-curricular, NSS action planning, etc.

  • team leadership or project leadership

  • exemplary teaching, tutorial and other guidance to students to help them progress their learning

  • engagement in continuous professional development which has demonstrably enhanced learning and teaching

  • promoting a professional profile within the institution

  • proactive membership of appropriate professional bodies which leads to acquisition of a teaching qualification or teaching accreditation and/or enhances the reputation of the department or University

  • knowledge exchange activity

  • promoting widening participation

Research

Evidence of particular success, effectiveness and impact in the following:

  • initiation or effective leadership of research

  • identifying sources of and securing research funding

  • developing high level research skills

  • disseminating, presenting and publishing research findings

  • developing the research skills of others

  • contributing to the review of departmental research strategies

  • developing partnerships with external bodies

Administration

Evidence of particular success, effectiveness and impact in the following:

  • quality management

  • course management

  • recruitment of students

  • good citizenship and acting as a role model,  e.g. contribution to committees, wider activities, etc.

  • representing the department on external bodies
