Taking the Inside Track

Tuesday, 17 December 2013

A pioneering mentoring scheme was launched recently to help students develop their career in the competitive sports industry. Inside Track is designed to provide a valuable link into industry for the department's Sports Science and Sports Coaching students.

The launch event for the scheme brought together 30 current third year students with 30 industry professionals for a speed networking session, along with an inspirational talk from former Olympian and bronze medal winning rower Sarah Winkless, with the event culminating in students meeting their mentors for the first time.

The Inside Track mentoring programme aims to link future graduates with industry professionals who could support their transition and help them nurture their careers. The initiative offers students the opportunity to share their concerns and queries with those who have experienced them.

For further information regarding the mentoring scheme please contact the Inside Track coordinator,Danny Newcombe.
