Areas of expertise

I started working for mental health services (Nottingham Advocacy Group, MIND, Oxfordshire Mental Health Matters, etc.) in the Voluntary sector 20 years ago and completed a PGCert from Anglia Ruskin University in Mental Health Studies in 1999. I decided to train as a Social Worker and I qualified with a Masters in Applied Social Studies and a Diploma in Social Work from Oxford University in 2003. I went on to manage an adult mental health voluntary sector service in South Oxfordshire for five years. I then practiced as a Children and Families Social Worker in Oxford City and Banbury for a year and then as a Child Protection Social Worker in South Oxfordshire for four years. I graduated with a MA in Public Administration from Warwick University in 2013. For the past 10 years I have acted as an Independent Practice Educator for Social Work students on placement. I joined the Social Work teaching team at Oxford Brookes University in November 2014. I also work as a part-time Tutor in Social Work at Ruskin College."
