I was a student on the Masters course in Social Work at Oxford Brookes University and returned onto the course to do some teaching once I had graduated as an associate lecturer. Since then, I have worked at Brookes as a teaching fellow and now a lecturer. I am involved in the Widening Participation team and act as the academic lead for the department. Due to my interest in topics of 'race', racism, social exclusion and inequality, I have also set up a project catering to the needs of BME students on the course, working in partnership with students to ensure there is a platform for the students' voice to be heard.
I am also involved in a project within the team looking to 'Decolonise the Curriculum' and make social work more accessible, inclusive and critical.
