The focus on methodologies in theory and practice is something which I enjoyed the most and sought to incorporate in my professional career once I’d finished my studies

Before I started the MA International Relations programme I was studying the International Relations and Politics BA course at Oxford Brookes. I really enjoyed the teaching style and delivery I received throughout my undergraduate degree and this prompted me to stay on and pursue my drive for further education in the same establishment.

I found the course’s ‘all-rounder’ first semester; which allows you to get a taste of each offered specialization, was a particularly pleasing aspect. It allowed me to learn a bit more about areas I hadn’t come across before whilst also sanctioning my decision on my chosen path (Global Political Economy). I found the variety of theoretical debates regarding governance methodologies and theory and practice featured throughout my studies at to have been a particular area of interest for me. The focus on methodologies in theory and practice is something which I enjoyed the most and sought to incorporate in my professional career once I’d finished my studies.

The ability to sign up to the Oxford Bodleian library was something which really helped me with my studies. Not only did it give me a new insight into an invaluable range of sources but it was also an inspirational and impressive place to work.

I'm now delighted to have the chance to experience first-hand the implementation of developed and proven consulting methodologies within my career. I’m currently working as a Consultant for Hitachi Consulting, working within their Management Consulting and Industries consulting community. Here I’m utilizing developed communication and people management skills to a high level in focusing on the needs of the client in developing and delivering challenging change management projects.

A big thank you to all the tutors and advisors I had throughout the years, without them I wouldn’t be where I am now!
