Current Geography and Physical Geography undergraduate Tom Ray is planning to study for an MSc in Global Environmental Change following his graduation from Brookes.

I chose to study Geography at Oxford Brookes because the diversity of the course allows for the examination of so many different aspects of ancient and modern life, especially in relation to climatic conditions on a global scale.

I have found my lecturers very enthusiastic, and always keen to assist me in and out of the class, and the modular system allows me the freedom to learn while making some great relationships with other students.

One of the most valuable things I have learnt at Brookes is an analytical research skill. It’s all well and good being able to identify a problem or an area that needs further research, but actually being able to apply myself to these situations and come out with an end result will stand me in good stead for my future career.

Being in a city usually means vast distances from where you are to where you want to be, but Oxford is the perfect size – you are only ever a ten to fifteen walk away from all the key areas. Combining the structure of the course with the location make Oxford Brookes the perfect place to spend three years of learning.
