We're creating campuses to inspire, with new teaching, learning and study spaces. Over a ten-year programme of investment, we'll be investing £220 million in our estate.

You can read more about the projects we have completed to date on our completed projects page.

    Clerici

The Clerici redevelopment will see the University’s former main entrance building transformed into a hub for teaching, learning and study. It’s also becoming the new home at Headington of the Oxford Brookes Business School.

    The Clerici project will deliver:

Artists' impression of the new Clerici
    • thirty teaching rooms and a collaborative lecture theatre
    • social learning spaces (think mini Forum)
    • the Sir Kenneth Wheare Hall, a flexible and dynamic space for teaching and events, such as graduations
    • a new external facade, modernising the eastern face of the campus
    • rooftop solar panels for power generation, continuing our strive for sustainable operations
    • the new home to the Oxford Brookes Business School.
    Scheduled completion: September 2017
    Project investment: c. £34 million

    Sinclair

Our central Headington home to health and life sciences, we’re changing the way our teaching and research is delivered in Sinclair.

    Phase one has delivered:

    Sinclair Annex lab
    • a new home for the Bioimaging Unit, which specialises in microscopy research
    • a refurbished second floor, transforming the way teaching and research takes place, with new laboratory space
    • refurbished first floor bringing additional modern labs and research space (scheduled to open in September 2017).

Phase two will see the remaining third, fourth and ground floors of Sinclair remodelled into modern teaching, research and study space for the University’s health and life sciences activity. These will be done floor by floor.

    Scheduled completion: 2019
    Project investment: c. £22 million

    Wheatley Campus summer refurbishments

We’re improving key teaching, learning and study spaces on the campus, as well as bringing a new student recreational area and gym to enhance the student and staff experience at Wheatley.

    This will deliver:

    The refurbished Wheatley library
    • student social space, alongside a gym, in the Simon Williams Centre
    • a modernised library with new group and individual study spaces
    • relocated and improved teaching spaces, including a refurbished lecture theatre and new computer labs
    • new staff offices (in a second phase).

You can read more on these works. This project is investing in the experience of those studying and working at Wheatley Campus. The University’s current activity at Wheatley will cease from 2021/22.

Scheduled completion: September 2017 (phase two by December)
    Project investment: c. £1.6 million
