We're creating campuses to inspire, with new teaching, learning and study spaces. Over a ten-year programme of investment, we'll be investing £220 million in our estate.

You can read more about the projects we have completed to date on our completed projects page.

    Clerici and Sinclair

The Clerici and Sinclair buildings at Headington are undergoing refurbishment, creating brand new teaching and learning spaces. Each building will also be reclad, providing a new exterior facade. You can find more detail on each project below.

    Clerici
The refurbishment of Clerici (including former library spaces) is underway and will provide a new home to the Faculty of Business. The Business School will relocate from Wheatley Campus as part of this move, expected in time for the start of the 2017/18 academic year.

As well as the new Faculty of Business spaces, the Clerici project will create:

    • 28 teaching rooms and a collaborative lecture theatre for use across all subjects
    • social learning space with cafe
    • a new gateway into the Headington Campus.

The Main Hall will also be rebuilt, bringing a flexible, new space for teaching – and events like graduations. The exterior spaces outside Clerici will be landscaped, providing more usable green space, with natural light a key feature of the new gateway and social learning spaces.

    Sinclair
The first phase of the Sinclair redevelopment has seen the Sinclair Annex turned into a new home for our bioimaging unit, housing specialist microscopes and related research labs. This space is now open.

Work has started on the second floor of Sinclair to create brand new teaching and research labs, alongside academic staff offices. Upon the completion of level two in early 2017, work on the first floor will commence and is expected to be complete by summer 2017.

We are continuing consultations with staff, students and the local community to ensure the spaces we’re creating are just what are needed.
