Expected programme of works from 10 January 2014

Headington Road Site electrical shutdown

A large proportion of the compass will undergo a planned electrical shutdown on Tuesday 14 January between the hours of 6.00 – 8.00 am

The following buildings will be affected – Sinclair, Clerici, Main Hall, Main Lecture Theatre, Greenhouse, Library ( Room L202 – L209 ) + (L303 – L321)+ Main reception + Central Stairs, Fuller, Gibbs  John Payne Building, Tonge, Santander Bank, John Henry Brookes Building.

The same buildings will also be affected with an electrical shutdown on Sunday 19 January between the hours of 10.00am - 12.00pm


Abercrombie access changes

On Monday 13 January the construction site entrance is set to move to the area next to the Buckley Building.

The path past Buckley and the bike park between Buckley and Abercrombie will close.

The main route into Abercrombie will be across the Piazza and through the automatic doors on level 1, which is opposite to the main entrance of the John Henry Brookes Building.

Wheel chair users will be able to use the level 1 route and use the lift to access the ground floor.

From the Piazza it is now possible to access the Central Courtyard through the cut through and down the external stairs.


Main Reception and Central Courtyard crane moves

Contractors’ welfare block is being removed from Central Courtyard from Saturday 10 January to Monday 12 January. During this period Main reception and surrounding areas will be closed.

From Tuesday 13 January for ten days the crane will continue to lift landscaping material – Main Reception will be open as usual during this lifting period.

The crane is scheduled to leave on the 24 January – the car park will open thereafter


Sinclair and Abercrombie – Central Courtyard Ground works

Concrete breaking will occur in the central courtyard between Monday 12 January and Friday 17 January.

Central courtyard ground works are scheduled to finish by the end of January.


International Centre – Cycle store

Work is continuing on the new covered cycle store with its planned opening scheduled for mid-February.
