  • Please find below a list of common staff questions and answers about examinations. If you cannot find the answer to your question below then please get in touch with the examinations team or use the ask exams button on the right.

  • The exam season dates are available on the key examination dates page.  Your personal exam dates, times and rooms are published on your PIP page nearer the exams (week 7 for semester exams). Click on the examination and assessment schedule tab to see them.

    Students must not bring their own calculators to an exam.

    If you require a calculator for the exam then a Brookes calculator will be provided on your desk.

    Brookes does not permit the use of any dictionaries in examinations for students whose first language is not English.

    Students can apply to take an examination offsite. You must complete the online application form on this site and pay the fee before the deadline for the set of exams you wish to take offsite.

    Students can apply for a change of exam date for the following reasons only:

    1. Military service
    2. Representing Oxford Brookes University or their nation in an international sporting event
    3. Religious Observance

    You should complete the online form found on this website before the deadline for the exam session and you must provide supporting evidence for your request.

    Module leaders are emailed to ask for any timetable requests before the end of week 3.

    Any requests made after the timetable is produced will only be accommodated if there is a very good reason for the request, the request could not have been made by the deadline and the request is possible. Examination timetabling is a very complex and time-consuming process.
