Publishing in research journals is a brilliant way to disseminate student research. Nursing student Emma Blakey, for example, was offered a student column in The British Journal of Nursing, after submitting an article.
Journals specifically aimed at publishing student work are supportive, recognising that student research may have been carried out in a limited time frame, but without compromising on the quality of what gets published. Oxford Brookes is already involved in several undergraduate research journals:
Mesh – for English students.
eScholar – for postgraduate students within the department of Computing and Communication Technologies offering new opportunities for students to share their work with their peers.
GEOverse – a national e-journal of undergraduate research in Geography.
Reinvention – which publishes the work of students from a range of disciplines.
