The Student Records System (SRS) Programme has its first key milestone starting in February. This will be a large-scale testing of the new system’s Admissions functionality involving 150 staff from the Academic and Student Affairs (ASA) Directorate.

The testing, also known as 'dry-run', will take place over a couple of months and will involve ASA volunteers submitting close to 400 mock applications using the new system.

“It’s our first chance to see a part of the SRS system working in earnest, and to test that the new application and admissions functionality will support our ways of working”, says Maura Moran, SRS Change Manager.

Together with the Admissions and Oxford Brookes International (OBI) teams, as well as Faculty representatives, the SRS Team created detailed test plans to ensure the applications cover a wide variety of courses, user journeys and devices.

Next stage of the 'dry-run'

Starting in March, Admissions and OBI colleagues will review the mock applications. Their offices will close around this time. The teams will be in touch closer to the time with more details about this. In March, Mohammad Iqbal, SRS Training Manager, will also provide an induction for staff in charge of reviewing and processing the mock applications.
