• About the Brookes Project Management approach

The new project management approach is designed to be a practical framework to support delivery within realistic and agreed time, cost and quality parameters for all Oxford Brookes projects. It is also designed to provide a consistent approach to developing project management skills throughout Oxford Brookes. It is a structured approach where content can be readily scaled-up by experienced project managers engaged on large complex or higher risk projects.

Finance and Legal Services expects all capital projects and funding bids to use the new project management process, governance structures and document template suite.

One of the priorities for the VPO (Virtual Project/Programme Office) has been to develop the project management framework for Oxford Brookes. The framework has been designed in collaboration with key users and aims to actively promote good practice in its approach and facilitate support to project managers.

  • Our approach at Brookes is designed to support and enable:

    • Strategic alignment of projects and programmes
    • The direction of a business-led approach
    • A mechanism to achieve release of trained project managers and specified resources
    • Oversight and communication on project progress
    • The development of good practice in project management
    • The provision of a project management toolkit to create a consistent approach across Brookes.
