    The Change Request is part of Stage 4: Delivery of the project lifecycle and working towards approval at Gateway 4: Readiness for service.

    Who prepares the Change Request?

    The Project Manager is accountable for the preparation and production of any requests for change, Off-Specification Notices, enquiries and statements of concern raised by anyone associated with the project. Before going to the Board for approval, the Project Manager must obtain the Project Sponsor/Executive sign-off. 

    What is the purpose of the Change Request?

    An impact analysis must be undertaken for all Change Requests to assess the impact on any affected products, as defined by the project, and its technical deliverability, legal and contractual obligations and standards. Assessment must also be carried out on the Business Case in terms of cost, timescale, quality and achievement of benefits. Classification of the Change Request, in terms of whether it is deemed 'Critical, Essential or Desirable' with supporting evidence must be presented to the appointed Board for consideration to enable an informed decision to be made.
