Your Risk Register must be completed and ready as a management tool before you can complete the Stage 3: Planning element of the project lifecycle. In practice you should begin populating your risk register from the start of your project when you first identify key risk within your Project Brief. You will then use the Risk Register regularly as a management tool throughout the life of the project but particularly throughout Stage 4: Delivery.
The steps below walk you through the stages for populating and using the Risk Register template provided. This will provide you with an effective tool to identify manage and mitigate the risks associated with a project.
