First Aid at Work Refresher

About the workshop

It is a requirement of your training as a First Aider and Life-Savers that you complete a refresher course.

The first aid at work refresher training course updates the first aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work certificate or Emergency First Aid certificate. All first aid courses are run in-house and scheduled at the start of each academic year by Occupational Health in consultation with OCSLD and the first aid trainer. Duration: 2-day first aid refresher course for First Aiders,1-day refresher course for Lifesavers.

Course content

The course aims to update and refresh your knowledge of the First aid at work syllabus, while allowing time for revision and practice sessions in preparation for a written assessment.

Please note:

  • The date for your refresher training will be scheduled by Occupational Health to co-inside with your certificate expiry date.
  • You will be sent a google invite well in advance of the renewal date to attend the training.
  • Refreshers can only be taken up to a month early and up to 28 days after the expiry date.
  • If these refresher dates do not fit in with the expiry of your first aid certification, then please contact ocsld@brookes.ac.uk as soon as possible to let us know.

Cancellation fee

This course is paid for by HR. However if you are unable to attend a course we require a minimum of 5 working days' notice of non-attendance, otherwise a cancellation charge will be made covering the full course fees.
