I chose to study Law because from a very young age I have always been fascinated within the Law field. Law is a very broad subject which influences our every day life. I chose Brookes as I wanted to live near home and because Brookes is a very diverse university. It has a lot to offer for both social and professional development. Student tip - Make the most out of uni and what uni has to offer! Join societies which is a great way of meeting new people who are not from your course and make yourself stand out from the crowd.
Hometown - Oxford
My choice to study law began at 15, and derives from its diverse nature and the fact law applies to everyday life within a society that is forever changing. I chose Brookes from the moment I visited on the open day. Brookes provides a feeling of community and the facilities I felt I needed to help me get through university.
Student tip - Although studying is key in your degree, don't forget to have fun. Get involved with things to give you a break from your workload.

I chose Business & Marketing Management because I have always enjoyed business subjects and the marketing element also allowed me to be creative. Brookes came out top when compared to other university open days I had attended. The day was very organised and the taster sessions left you feeling you wished you were already a student there.
Student tip - Once you've received your offer from Brookes and know your accommodation, Facebook is a great way to make friends with other students on your course and also find your flat mates.

The variety of subjects Law covers fascinates me. After attending work experience with Barristers and Solicitors, and realising how I love a challenge - I knew Law was the right degree for me. Brookes attracted me as I liked the welcoming feel of campus. The student ambassador who showed me round was very informative and friendly. The opportunity to study abroad at Brookes caught my eye!
Student tip - Throw yourself into something new! Study hard, but also take time out and really get stuck to uni life! (Bring a bike and helmet - it's a great way to enjoy Oxford!)
Hometown - London
Unfortunately I don't have a story about wanting to rid the world of injustice. I simply wanted to study a subject which would expose me to opportunity. It was between studying law or biochemistry. Brookes is relatively close to home. Oxford is an eclectic mix of modernity and history. Easy links to London and, being not too large of a city, Oxford eased the transition from home to university.
Student tip - Get an 'old person shopper trolley'. I have one, it even has racing stripes on it. Whilst they may not look the height of fashion, you'll be laughing when carrying shopping is a breeze.
Hometown - Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
My enthusiasm for hospitality began at my first job when I was 16. I fell in love with the opportunities the industry has to offer and knew this is what I wanted to go into. I completed my second year in America, without the Supervised Work Experience program Brookes offers I wouldn't have my experience. Brookes opportunities are limitless, that why I chose to study here.
Student tip - Whatever comes your way, embrace it. Whether its a social event or the chance to go abroad, take the opportunity, it'll help you learn and develop as a person which is important for the future.
Hometown - St.Albans, Hertfordshire
Before I started to study I did a bank apprenticeship. As I plan to pursue a career in HR, I chose to study Psychology with Business. This is the perfect combination for my intended future career. As soon as I visited at the Open Day I knew it was the right place. The organisation was great and all student ambassadors were kind and helpful, and the lecturers enthusiastic about their subjects.
Student tip - My advice would be to join a society or sports team. It gives the opportunity to meet students from different subjects, backgrounds and years and helps to build up a network that can be very useful.
I wanted a career which offered variety, creativity, and the prospect of a job I enjoyed at the end. This course has so many avenues I'll always be able to find something to suit me. The staff on my course were so enthusiastic and friendly, and made me feel like I was already part of their faculty. Everyone showed a real interest in me as a person .
Student tip - Buy some re-hydration sachets and have a couple after a night out. You'll thank me when you don't have a heavy hangover at your lecture
