This year's 'Bite into Entrepreneurship' programme got off to an enthusiastic start as guest speaker, Timon Colegrove shared his experience of running Hunts, a print, design and marketing services company, as well as talking about the importance of culture in a business.
The programme, which has been organised by the Research and Business Development Office (RBDO) at Oxford Brookes, involves a series of events and workshops for students and staff to introduce them to entrepreneurship, and runs throughout November and December at Wednesday lunchtimes. The sessions also provide the ideal preparation for the Business Plan Competition in February 2016.
Professor Julie McLeod, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) provided the welcome, and David Hartley, Commercial and Knowledge Transfer Manager, gave an introduction to the programme which includes workshops on 'What is an entrepreneur?', 'How to test and market your idea or product' and 'How to write a business plan'.
Incoming President of Brookes Entrepreneurs, Josh Hill, spoke about encouraging entrepreneurship at Brookes, and Thomas Stead, University Relationship Branch Manager for Santander, introduced Santander Universities and the 60 Second Pitch Awards
Students and staff interested in attending any of the sessions are invited to register online.
