Class of 2020

Update on postponed 2020 graduations

Dear graduates,

We hope that you are well and are coping with the uncertain times we are all currently experiencing.

As you will be aware, 2020 graduations were unfortunately postponed due to the ongoing pandemic. We subsequently conducted a survey of our final year students, and you overwhelmingly told us that you would prefer a face-to-face, on-campus ceremony to an online event.

We know that your graduation ceremony is an extremely important part of your university experience and since then we’ve been giving careful thought about how we can celebrate your achievements, as well as those of our 2021 graduates.

We wish to celebrate your achievements with on-campus ceremonies when Covid rules allow, and when large enough spaces are available on campus to ensure the safety of attendees. This will be no earlier than September 2021, but will be dependent on the ongoing Covid situation and rules around large gatherings.

We will continue to update you. Please continue to keep your personal contact details up to date by logging in to Student Information, so that we can contact you.

Finally, we would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that you can access networking support and other benefits by joining Oxford Brookes Alumni, and that you can continue to access support from the Careers team for up to three years after you graduate. Please do get in touch if this is of interest - we would love to hear from you!

Best wishes,

Graduation Team
