  • Meet and Greet Service

    We are looking forward to welcoming you to Oxford Brookes this September! Before making plans to travel to the UK please check GOV.UK Red, amber and green list rules to find out which colour your country is. You should refer to our Travelling to the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic web page for guidance about what you need to do before you travel. 

    Services offered by ISAT this September:

    • Taxi Airport Meet Service (see below)
    • Meet and Greet service from our Headington campus from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 September 2021 (see below). From the campus we have a team of friendly international student helpers to help you to your accommodation. Alternatively you can book a taxi straight to your accommodation.
    • Our Getting to Oxford web pages gives detailed information on getting to the Headington campus using public transport. 

    Taxi Airport Meet Service

    Pre-booked taxi service from Heathrow terminals.

    We have teamed up with Oxford based taxi company Go Green Taxis to ensure that you are still welcomed at your terminal and have a safe journey directly to your accommodation in Oxford. Go Green Taxis drivers are DBS checked, wear distinctive uniforms and will hold signs with your name clearly indicating that they are your designated driver. Flights are tracked so the drivers will be aware of any delays and will still be able to meet you when you arrive.

  • The taxi drivers use a tracking system so they will know if your flight is delayed and adjust their arrival time. They will still arrive 50 minutes after your new arrival time. If you are unable to take your flight please inform Go Green Taxi immediately by responding to the booking confirmation email you will receive from Go Green Taxi, quoting your booking reference number.
    • Service should be booked at least 72 hours before your flight.

    • You need to have your confirmed flight information ready to enter in the booking form.

    • Once you book, Go Green Taxis will send you a confirmation email that contains your booking reference number.

    • This service will cost £70 which you can pay the driver directly. Credit/Debit cards are the preferred payment method to comply with COVD-19 precautions, cash payments will be accepted.

    • The fare covers the journey from any Heathrow terminal to your accommodation within a five mile radius of Oxford city centre (all University managed halls are within a five mile radius). You will be charged extra for journeys outside this five mile radius. If you will be travelling outside this five mile please contact ISAT and we will find out how much this extra charge will be.

    • The fare covers a maximum for 3 people per journey. Passengers need to be from the same household.

    • Three large (approx. 20kg) items of luggage (one per person) can fit in the standard car, if you will be travelling with more please indicate this on the form. You can travel with more but you may be charged more.

    • The taxi drivers will be wearing face masks, it would be appreciated if you do.

    • If you are not able to travel and do not take your flight, you will need to inform Go Green Taxis as soon as possible.

    • The driver will be at Arrivals waiting for you 50 minutes after your flight arrives. They will not leave the airport without you but if they are waiting for longer than 30 minutes there will be an additional charge.

    • 40 pence per extra minute will be charged if the drivers needs to wait longer than 30 minutes. If your flight is delayed, your driver will be aware of this and the waiting time will start 50 minutes after your flight lands.

    Yes, the service can also be booked from Gatwick, Luton airports and St Pancras (for Eurostar). The cost for these journeys are:

    Gatwick Airport £100
    St Pancras £116

     

    To book this service from Gatwick, Luton airports or St Pancras train station or to enquire if you can book from any other airports or stations please email bookings@gogreentaxisltd.co.uk. Please include 'Oxford Brookes student booking' in the subject of the email. The email will need to include:

    • You full name.

    • The airport you will be arriving at.

    • The time and date of your arrival.

    • Your inbound to Gatwick/Luton flight number (if applicable).

    • Your destination in Oxford.

    • Details of excess luggage (+20kg) and additional passengers.

    • Your contact email address and phone number if you have one.

    Once you have sent these details, Go Green Taxis will confirm your request by email. Please contact the taxi company at least 72 hours before your journey.

    We know that the current COVID-19 situation means that flights are being disrupted. If your flight details have changed since you booked your taxi, please email bookings@gogreentaxitld.co.uk to give the taxi company the new flight details and ask them to delete the old flight details from their system.

  • Headington Meet & Greet service and travel advice

    Arriving from a country on the green list

    • If you take the airline coach from Heathrow or Gatwick airport, the coach will drop you off directly outside the University at the Headington campus (bus stop B4 on Headington road).  From here, a team of International Student Helpers will meet you, help you to your accommodation and answer any questions you have.
    • Please check that the country you are travelling from is still on the green list on the day of your journey.  
    • To sign up please provide us with some details about your journey and destination. We will email you to confirm your booking. 
    • *This service is subject to change if UK COVID-19 regulations are updated.

    Arriving from a country on the Amber list

    • You will need to travel directly from the airport to the accommodation where you are completing your quarantine (as indicated on your passenger location form). You can contact the International Student Advice team if you have any questions or concerns before or during your journey to the UK.
    • Please complete the Coronavirus reporting form while you are in quarantine so our COVID response team can check you are well and have everything you need.  
    • If you complete your 10 day quarantine in temporary accommodation between 10 and 12 September 2021 and need assistance getting to your term time accommodation, you can then sign up to the Headington Meet and Greet service. (See Arriving from a country on the green list to book).

    Arriving from a country on the Red list

    • You will need to quarantine in a government managed hotel for 10 days upon arriving in the UK. Details about booking this can be found on our Travelling to the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic web page.
    • Your quarantine hotel package includes transport to your quarantine hotel ,and transport back to the airport you arrived into after you have completed your quarantine. From here you can either book our Taxi airport meet service (see below) or use public transport (see Getting to Oxford) to get to your accommodation.
    • If you complete your 10 days in hotel quarantine between 10 and 12 September 2021 and need assistance getting to term time accommodation, you can then sign up to the Headington Meet and Greet service. (See Arriving from a country on the green list to book).
