We will email all applicants when sign up for our Meet & Greet service has opened in the Summer 2019.
Our team of international students will welcome you and show you to your accommodation. There are 2 Meet & Greet services.

    1. Heathrow airport to your hall of residence. This service is for those who will be at the arrivals gate at Heathrow between 07:00 – 17:30 on Saturday 14 September.

    2. Oxford Brookes University bus stop to your hall of residence. This service is for those who you will be at the bus stop between 09:00 – 19:30 on Saturday 14 September or between 09:00 – 14:30 on Sunday 15 September.

    From Heathrow Airport

  • Look for International Student Helpers (ISH) wearing green or pink Oxford Brookes University t-shirts when you arrive at the terminal.

    From terminals 2, 3 or 4
Our helpers will direct you to Heathrow central bus station and the Airline coach goes from stand 14A to Oxford. From terminals 2 and 3, this is a short walk. From terminal 4, our helpers will show you onto the free Heathrow Express train to take you there.

    From terminal 5
Our International Student Helpers will direct you to bus stop 10, just outside the terminal building.

You should buy a one way ticket to Oxford which will cost £23. If you will be returning to Heathrow within 3 months, then buy a period return which is £30. You can buy your ticket online in advance or from the coach driver on the day. The driver can accept cash [GB pounds, Euros (€ notes only) or US Dollars ($ notes only).] If you don’t have any cash with you, just ask one of the International Student Helpers to direct you to the cash machine at the terminal or, if you have a contactless card or device, then you can use this method to buy your ticket.

You can also buy a group ticket on the Airline bus. This costs £70 for 4 people (£17.50) each but you must have cash to buy this, as all 4 people must pay the driver together. Our helpers will arrange you into groups if you wish to benefit from this cheaper ticket. It is really helpful to have the exact money.

Coaches leave regularly throughout the day (about every 30 minutes) and less regularly during the night (about every 90 minutes). Airline coaches do not stop at Terminal 5 after 23:20 and before 05:50 . If you are arriving at Terminal 5 during those times, take the free shuttle train, called the Heathrow Express, to Heathrow Central Station (Terminals 2 and 3). From there, proceed to Heathrow Central bus station which is a short walk from these terminals and is well signposted. Take the Airline coach from the Central bus station, bay 14A though you can check this on the screens in the central bus station. Click here to find more information about travelling between terminals.

For more information about when the coaches leave, see  Airline timetables.

Luggage allowance is 2 suitcases (up to 20kg each) in the hold and one small item of hand luggage in the coach.

Please be aware that there are no porters available for carrying luggage at Heathrow Airport or in Oxford. Also, there will be considerable walking from the terminals to Heathrow central bus station.

Please make sure that your luggage is packed carefully and that you are able to carry it all yourself. Oxford Brookes Meet & Greet team (including the Airline coach drivers and taxi drivers) cannot help you with your luggage.

You should get off the bus at Oxford Brookes stop. We will give you stickers for your suitcases so the driver is clear which stop you wish.
Our International Student Helpers will be waiting for you at the bus stop and they will direct you to a free minibus. Full details under "From Oxford Brookes Bus Stop" below.
