How to get your CAS

  • Students starting a new course

You will need a Confirmation of Acceptance to Study, known as a CAS, to apply for a Tier 4 visa. To get your CAS you will need to complete the following first:

    • Make an application to Oxford Brookes
    • Receive an offer of a place at Oxford Brookes
    • Accept your offer as a firm place

After you have done these things, here is the process to get your CAS:

    Step 1

Fill out the visa information form which will be emailed to you.
If your course has an optional work placement decide if you wish to do it as it will affect your visa.

    Step 5

We can only issue your CAS after your offer is unconditional and no more than 3 months before the start date of your course.

    Step 6

We will email your CAS to you so you can submit your visa application.

Contact us and use our guide for applying from outside the UK to help you.

    • We recommend paying your course fees before requesting your CAS so that your fee payments will then be shown on your CAS. If you pay any fees after getting your CAS and before making your visa application you should contact the International Student Compliance Team (ISCT) and ask them to update your CAS. Please note that it can take a few days for bank transfers to clear.

    Please Note

    • If you are applying for a visa to continue a course, please do not request your CAS just before you are expecting module results as the results may effect the end date of your course. If you need to apply urgently before results are published please come to see an adviser.
