Starting at university can be a challenging time, especially for students who are travelling to a new country. You can help make this experience a positive and rewarding one for our international students arriving in January.

The Global Buddies programme, which is managed by the International Student Advice Team (ISAT), relies on the involvement of current students who volunteer to lead and support a group of new students, by sharing tips and experiences about the social and academic life at Brookes, in Oxford and in the UK.

This is a great way to make friends from all over the globe and learn from international students about their unique cultures. There will be a number of free organised activities that you can attend with your Buddies. We will also offer a Mentor Training and Mentor Skills Sessions, for you to develop work-related skills and highlight this experience on your CV.

For more information and to sign up, go to the Global Buddies webpage (registrations open 14 December).

If you have any questions, email us at global-buddies@brookes.ac.uk.
