Head into Brookes pathway

How to be an effective student is not obvious. In your first few days, you may have encountered many people who look more confident than you feel, but under the surface everyone has lots of questions: What do I want to get out of university? How much work do I really need to do? Am I good enough?

For weeks, people have bombarded you with information but every Zoom link, Google Meet, classroom or Moodle site seems to generate more questions and it can seem overwhelming. If you want to get off to a good start at Oxford Brookes, build your confidence and develop the qualities and skills you need to succeed then Head into Brookes is for you.

Head into Brookes is a free, short online course that will help you plan your first few weeks at university. You will hear from current and former students who will share their experiences of settling in and first-year study, explore what it means to be an independent learner, and discover self-reflection skills that will help you make the most of all your opportunities at university. All this from the comfort of your own home in about an hour! Search Moodle for “Head into Brookes” to start well and study well.
