Travel update for the forthcoming academic year

The Transport Services team provide an update on arrangements for the new academic year:

BROOKESbus

The BROOKESbus semester timetable will start from Saturday 11 September. Further timetable details will be made available shortly on the Oxford Bus Company’s BROOKESbus webpages.

Additional services will be provided for the start of the academic year to support the smooth transition into the new academic year with details again available via the BROOKESbus webpages.

Sustainable travel

Transport Services will be working with the University Bike Dr and other partners to help promote sustainable travel modes during Semester 1. This will include bike maintenance workshops and incentives for World Car Free Day which is taking place on Wednesday 22 September.

Information on sustainable travel and offers can be found on the University's dedicated travel webpages. Further updates will be provided in due course, so be sure you don’t miss out.

Sustainable travel event

On Monday 27 September between 10.00am and 4.00pm, representatives from local transport operators (including Chiltern Railways, Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach) will be in the Forum in the John Henry Brookes Building on the Headington Campus to promote their travel offers and respond to any of your questions. Be sure not to miss out this event, as complimentary travel tickets will be available. 

Women’s Cycle Tour

On Monday 4 October 2021, Oxfordshire will host the first stage of the Women’s Cycle Tour. The tour is taking place over six stages, with stage one, The Grand Depart, leaving Bicester and travelling 150km throughout Oxfordshire before finishing in Banbury.

The tour is expected to arrive in the city by approximately 11:30am on Monday 4 October, and will pass near to the Headington Campus
