  • About us

    • Mental health conditions
    • Long term medical conditions
    • Autistic Spectrum Disorders such as Aspergers
    • Physical and sensory impairments
    • Those who do not have a formal diagnosis, are newly diagnosed, or become unwell whilst at university

Under the Equality Act 2010 it is a legal requirement for Universities to provide reasonable adjustments to enable students with disabilities to access their course.  The disability service is committed to developing an inclusive environment at Oxford Brookes University, providing equal access for all, empowering students with disabilities to become independent learners. We do this by providing specialist advice and support to students so that you can:

Access entitlements- We can work with you to guide you through the DSA process so that you are accessing the correct entitlements and support for you

Access reasonable adjustments - We will work with you to develop a support plan that fits your circumstances and advise the University on these adjustments

Access further support- We can guide you to the different departments in the University and the wider community to provide a full and holistic approach to your support whilst you're studying with us
