Using your personal information portal - a step by step guide

Your personal information portal (PIP) is a suite of web pages that contains your personal details including your address, emergency contact and mobile phone details and a photo.

It is an important tool that we recommend you familiarise yourself with as soon as possible.

  • What it does

PIP plays an important role when you start at Oxford Brookes:

    • part of your enrolment is done online, along with your face-to-face enrolment
    • your Oxford Brookes student ID card can only be issued once you have uploaded a photograph of yourself to PIP.

    PIP also enables you to:

    • request an attendance/council tax exemption certificate via the ‘Admin Services’ tab
    • access the library electronic resources via your ‘Library Electronic Resources’ tab
    • change your password in the ‘My Settings’ tab
    • register for your graduation ceremony
  • How it works

    Before enrolment

After you’ve been offered and accepted a place on an Oxford Brookes course, and met your conditions, you receive an email from us.

This email will contain a password which will enable you to complete online enrolment and upload a digital photo.

    1. Go to: Personal information portal

    2. Enter your UCAS ID and the password you have been sent

    3. Click on the ‘OK’ button

    NB please note that:

    • our system is unable to accept photos that are of a large file size. A ‘selfie’ taken from a smartphone is a suitably sized image.
    • after enrolment you need to use the full PIP as ‘Applicant PIP’ becomes redundant

    After enrolment

Once you have completed face-to-face enrolment you will receive a new password and a student number which will give you ongoing access to your PIP and Brookes email account:

    1. Go to: Personal information portal

    2. Enter your 8-digit student number (found on your student ID card) in the ‘Applicant/Personal, Student or Staff ID’ box (e.g. 12345678)

    3. Enter your portal password that you were given after enrolment in the ‘password’ box

    4. Click on the ‘OK’ button

    5. Your PIP will appear on the screen, displaying your basic course details, your personal and address details, and links to other useful pages.
