Bursary scheme

  • Oxford Brookes has been awarded funding from HEFCE to provide 77 bursaries, each worth £10,000, for students starting master’s courses in 2015/16.

The Postgraduate Support Scheme (PSS) has been designed to help under-represented groups of students on taught postgraduate master’s courses at the University.

Am I eligible for an award?

Although full details of the criteria have not been finalised, to be eligible for a bursary you must:

    • Hold an offer of a place on an eligible Oxford Brookes taught MA or MSc course starting in 2015/6 as a UK or EU student.
    • Have started your bachelor’s degree in or after September 2012 and have been charged at the higher rate of tuition fees for your bachelor’s course.
    • Be part of a group under-represented at master’s level. We will include categories eligible under this criterion when the scheme opens.

    How can I apply?

Further details of the Postgraduate Support Scheme along with specific eligibility criteria and how to apply will be announced shortly. If you would like to be notified once more information is available, please register your interest.

What if I plan to start my studies after 2015?

This bursary scheme is only for students starting in 2015/16. The government plans to introduce a new postgraduate loan scheme from September 2016 for taught master’s students under 30 years old.
