The Oxford Brookes University Community Scholarship rewards those students who have overcome personal or social difficulties.
Priority will also be given to students who demonstrate that they have taken part in significant engagement in the community (including volunteering), or been a successful role model for other students.
Students who are successful in being awarded the Community Scholarship are given a one off payment of £1,000 in their first year of study. This money does not have to be paid back, as long as the student completes their course.
Being part of the Community scholarship is something that I am really proud of. It was evidence to me that my perseverance through a difficult stage in life and my hard work in college had been recognised and appreciated by the tutors. It gives me motivation to keep working to the best of my abilities. Chris Lewis, FdEng Motorsports - Performance and Automotive Technology.
