    Overview
A whole day event designed for year 10 GCSE students with the aim of raising attainment in core subjects.
  • Who the event is for

Year 10 GCSE students who need an extra boost in the core subjects.

    About the event

Our study conference combines sample lectures in essential study skills for core subjects with an opportunity for students to find out what career paths Maths, English and Science can lead to in the future. Students will have a morning of building a bank of revision tips before embarking on an afternoon of attending talks on the variety of exciting job opportunities linked to core subjects, aiming to raise students attainment and motivation through highlighting the importance of these qualifications.

    Aims include:

    • To improve students’ attainment in Science, Maths and English
    • To increase students’ confidence at school
    • To develop students’ study skills and capacity for academic attainment
    • To develop students’ knowledge and awareness of the benefits of higher education
    • To raise the aspirations of students in the local community.

  • By coach

A coach will be arranged for your students to the campus.

Please arrange for the coach driver to drop you off at the B4 bus stop on the London Road (the lay-by which the Oxford Tube pulls into). This is a busy road so you should ensure your students alight from the coach as quickly as possible. On arrival you will be met by a student ambassador and taken to the main reception to register. At the end of the day please arrange for the coach driver to collect you from the same place, the B4 bus stop.

Please note – there is no parking available for coaches on the day so please arrange with your coach company to park elsewhere, for example at Thornhill park and ride.

    By minibus

If you are travelling with students in a minibus, we do have a limited number of parking spaces available. Please contact us as soon as possible if you will require this.

On arrival at the campus you will be met by a student ambassador and taken to the main reception to register.

Catering will be provided on the day.
