Areas of expertise
I have a background in English language teaching (CELTA qualified, 2001) and have many years of experience as an English language teacher for both young learners and adults in international summer schools and pre-sessional courses (e.g. EAP).
As a theoretical linguist and trained psycholinguist, I aim to combine experimenal psycholinguistics and language teaching by translating research findings into teaching methodology to assess their usefulness in language learning and teaching.
We have recently established a Linguistics Lab at Oxford Brookes where, with further funding, we will be able to conduct not only behavioural experiments and speech recording but also eye-tracking experiments and electroencephalograpy (EEG).
