Gillian has been a television news reporter and producer since 2001, and is currently freelance.

For the first 8 years of her career, she was based at the ITV regional news down the road at Abingdon in Oxfordshire.

As a freelancer, she now works a variety of roles, mainly for the national news. Gillian is a Reporter/Producer for ITV Good Morning Britain, and a Series Editor at TalkTV for News UK, and for five years she was also an on-screen reporter for ITN.

She is the Executive Producer in charge of the Live TV News for the International Broadcast Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam every year - which involves running a live 12 hour programme, for six days in a row  - and creating more than 1000 social media clips in that same six days.

She also worked on three seasons of the ITV network programme Countrywise as an Assistant Producer.

And well as the journalism side, Gillian also teaches crisis PR media training to military personnel for broadcast interviews, on intensive training days for the Joint Media Operation Command (JMOC), based at RAF Halton.

As well as all that, Gillian is a Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University, and is a Moldule Leader of six modules. She teaches TV news, journalism, Avid, camera work and filming, live studio operation, digital media, professional practice and script writing to undergrads and to postgrads.
