Research overview

My research explores the psychological factors associated with health behaviours such as alcohol consumption and physical activity. I have expertise in the development and evaluation of behaviour change interventions across a wide range of domains, including alcohol, sexual consent, e-cigarette use, and physical activity.  I am particularly interested in the social and emotional aspects of health behaviours and how they impact on our mental health and wellbeing. I am part of the Global Drug Survey Core Research Team.

Current research projects

  • Alcohol and breast cancer communication (funded by Brookes Healthy Ageing and Care Network).
  • Community and Hospital Pharmacists and E-cigarettes (funded by Cancer Research UK).

Global Drug Survey research projects:

  • Impact of changes in alcohol consumption patterns in COVID-19 lockdown for people with and without mental health conditions.
  • Exploring factors associated with drunkenness and regret.
  • Impact of COVID-19 lockdown on intimate partner violence.
