Dr Andreas Kotsakis joined Oxford Brookes as a Lecturer in September 2012, and became a Senior Lecturer in Law in 2014. His primary areas of research and teaching are international law, environmental law and international development.

Dr Kotsakis received his PhD from the LSE in January 2012, supported by a LSE Research Studentship. During this time, he also taught at LSE, SOAS and the University of Westminster. He received his LLM in Environmental Law from the University of Nottingham in 2004. His first law degree was in the civil law tradition, at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

Prior to his doctoral study, he interned as a policy analyst in international development and agricultural policy at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

He has occupied a number of departmental roles since arriving at Oxford Brookes University, including LLM Subject Coordinator, Postgraduate Research Tutor and Erasmus Exchanges Coordinator.
