Kim Waring Paynter is the Course Leader for School Direct ITT Primary and Secondary Programmes. She is also the Widening Participation Officer for the School of Education a representative for the HSS Facility EDI Committee and sits on the university Race Equality Charter Self-Assessment Team (RECSAT).

Her current interests include leadership and partnership, equality diversity and inclusion, early literacy, and teachers as researchers. She currently leads the Westminster Teacher Fellowship, which is an initiative supporting experienced teachers from OBU partnership schools in carrying out their own research projects in-school in a chosen field.  She also works in partnership with the Afrikan Heritage Community Association (AHCA) - a consortium of African heritage organisations, to facilitate The Black Excellence Project, an extra curricular Saturday School open to young people aged 11 - 16.
