I am a fully qualified Teacher with over 17 years’ experience working in a range of educational settings as a Teacher, Middle Leader and Senior Leader. These have been in mainstream schools, mainstream colleges, specialist SEND college and higher education settings. My professional teaching background is in Social Sciences which includes, Sociology, Psychology and Health Studies. All of my experience has been supporting and developing students to breakdown educational barriers so that they are then able to learn. Prior to joining Oxford Brookes, I was Assistant Head of College (Senior Leader) in a specialist SEND College in Somerset.

In addition to my teaching qualifications/experience, I have a number of music qualifications from UK music conservatoires, including an Honorary Fellowship Diploma for Services to Music from the National College of Music and the Associate Diploma in Music Performance. I am a Baritone singer and play a number of musical instruments, including Flute, Baroque Flute, Violin, Piano, Recorder and Oboe.

My role as a Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes involves teaching on a range of pedagogical and educational topics relating to education at postgraduate level. Leading modules, delivering lectures and seminars, marking, and assessing student work, supervising postgraduate students. Contributing to the development of new programmes and modules, including in collaboration with partners. In this role I am developing a research profile in the School of Education.
