Carol undertook registered general nurse training at St Mary’s Hospital, London. Followinggraduation she undertook various staff nurse roles in acute settings including: cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, acute general medicine, coronary care and intensive care and was also night sister in acute care.  Carol has been a Ward Sister, Clinical Practice Development Nurse and Nurse Manager in Acute General Medicine as well as undertaking Senior Management roles in project and complaints management.

Carol undertook the English National Board Cardiac Nursing course at the National Heart Hospital and then went on to take the Manchester University BSc Nursing Studies at the Institute of Advanced Nursing Education, Royal College of Nursing, London. Carol undertook the combined Post GraduateDiplomas in Professional Education and Advanced Health Care Practice at Oxford Brookes University,graduating in 1997.  She subsequently completed her Master’s degree in Health Care Education also at Oxford Brookes in 2009. Carol joined the faculty as a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing in September 2002.
