Staff Profiles

I have recently been appointed as a Midwifery Lecturer, November 2019. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with student midwives at all stages of their undergraduate and postgraduate experience.

I am particularly keen to promote normality whereby student midwives gain an appreciation of optimising birth in all settings.

In addition to this I will be raising the profile of vulnerable groups and the role of the midwife.

My midwifery lecturing is enhanced by working as a community midwife where I support women and their families through pregnancy, birth and during the postnatal period, with particular emphasis on home and midwifery led unit births.

I am also the Link Lecturer for Bicester and Banbury and offer academic support to a small group of student midwives.
